I created this blog in an effort to track my trip and since I don't do MySpace or Facebook, I figure it's a good way to update people without writing mass emails. I hope to update it regularly and add pictures, although I will have to figure out how to do that. This bloggin thing is a bit beyond my computer abilities at times!
I leave in 2 days for my adventure and am excited, although a bit more nervous than I anticipated. I don't speak Spanish (yet!) but will be attending class daily and living with a host family, so I better learn something. Guatemala is supposedly a beautiful country, safe if you are smart, and a great place to learn some Spanish. I have my money belt (so the banditos don't get my money!), my Lonely Planet guidebook, and my electronic dictionary (thanks Mica!) - I'm all set. Vamanos!
